Philipp Krieger and Alexander Dworsky.
As eternal dreamers and visionaries that we are we rely on two things to make ideas turn into reality: endless belief in what we want to achieve and the right partners on our side. We have the honor and the great pleasure to not only be friends with Philipp Krieger and Alexander Dworsky since several years, but also to enjoy an especially passionate and fruitful collaboration with this young team, that makes our visions and unique projects turn into reality.
Both were born in 1984 and have known each other since their youth. The love of craftsmanship and the feeling for aesthetic moments in the world of building quickly created a strong connection. Each of them approached the topic from his very own angles.
Alex dedicated himself to the academic path of constructiveness. His instinct led him to architecture. During his time at the university, he increasingly sought friction with the reality of construction and the consequences of the conceptual work that precedes it. The planning and implementation of the reconstruction of an old farmhouse strengthened the unity of the disciplines in an autodidactic process.
Philipp first travelled through Lower Austria as a blacksmith, then as a fitter roamed Europe. He finished this stage with a masters degree in metal work. At the University of Applied Arts, he refined his skills in dealing with a wide variety of materials and machines.
In 2014, the two characters combined with their own workshop to form a creative unity.
The activities of Krieger & Dworsky include the conception, planning and execution of furniture in the broadest sense. The technical realization of conceptual designs on a wide range of different scales is a characteristic feature of their work.
The complexity of their competences forms the basis for an important key function at the interface of architecture and furniture construction. In the development of concepts and their practical application, Krieger & Dworsky maintain intensive contact with all those involved, not least with the aim of achieving a synthesis as the final result.
Commissioned work forms the core, and they as well develop independent prototypes. A wide variety of materials are used, with the focus on steel, wood and concrete. The use of different materials allows to meet individual demands for function in the best possible way and to preserve the material's natural appearance. In combination, they form a constructive and aesthetic unit in their structural peculiarities. This philosophy is supported by straight lines and reduced surface treatment. Aesthetic and practical quality should touch people in the truest sense of the word. An interaction between individual and object - an enrichment for everyday life.
Passion in thinking and acting - the direct adaptation as a built work.
The head guides the hand and the hand checks the head again. Sensitivity in the recognition of constructive connections is expressed in the sensual moment of their materiality. A synthesis, caused by the interaction of head and hand.
Krieger & Dworsky find their rhythm in the area of conflict between design and execution. It is precisely the open attitude towards materiality and scale that creates a certain degree of uncertainty in the spectrum of their activity profile. It is broadly diversified and again focused on specific points in order to meet the variety of tasks and the demands of the details in the execution.

Als Display für ein völlig neus Plattenformat wurde der Phonocut Prototyp entwickelt. Stahl sorgt für Grazie während der obere Teil aus Eiche hochwertige Audiogeräte bereithält. Präzise gesetzten Öffnungen gliedern die Bedienoberfläche und laden den Musikliebhaber zum Schmökern und Hören der Raritäten ein.
Ein schmales Lichtband bedient dabei den funktionalen Aspekt sowie die visuelle Erscheinenung dieses Möbels.

Ein zarter Rahmen aus gebogenem Stahlrohr öffnet sich nach oben hin konisch. Fächer aus schmalen Eichenleisten bieten Platz für Fernseher, Videorekorder und Kassetten. Auf kugelgelagerten Industrierollen gleitet dieses Möbel durch die analoge Hotelsuite in Wien.

Ein Rahmen aus Stahl, gefüllt mit Nuss und edlem Akustikstoff beherbergt feine analoge Audiogeräte. Ein nach Innen abgesetzter Sockel aus Stahlblech dient als mobile Basis Anzutreffen ist dieses Möbel in der Bar des 25 Hours Hotel in Zürich und wartet darauf Gäste mit einer Prise musikalischer Nostalgie zu verzaubern.

Linien aus Stahl und Flächen aus Nuss ergänzen sich zu einem Korpus. Der mit feinsten Lichtenegger Hifi Geräten und dem legendären Algol von Brionvega bewaffnete Klassiker rollt durch die analogen Suiten der 25hours Hotelgruppe. Textile und hölzerne Flächen ergänzen die Zwischenräume des schlanken Stahlrahmens. Wer schon vergessen hat, wie sich das Spulgeräusch eines Videorecorders anhört, kann sich vom sogenannten “Klassiker“ in die Vergangenheit entführen lassen.

Eine leicht ausgestellte Konstruktion aus Stahlrohren bildet die Basis für eine Platte aus massiver Eiche. Diese ist von zarten Bordüren umrahmt und in drei Arbeitsfelder unterteilt. Bündig mit dem Holz eingelassenes Leder markiert den Platz für klassische Schreibmaschinen. Längliche Schlitze mit Lederschlaufen im hinteren Bereich ordnen Briefpapier und Kuverts.
Als haptisches Element schmeichelt das "Runserl", eine konkave Vertiefung entlang der vorderen Kante, dem Handballen und bildet sogleich den Abschluss der Fläche.

Als letzte Station vor dem Postkasten dient dieses Pult dem Veredeln der an sich schon edlen Briefe. Abgesetzte Flächen im Holz sind mit kräftigem Rindsleder versehen. Die in einer Nuance massiver ausgeführte Variante des Gestelles reiht sich in den Formenkanon der Schreibstation ein. Fein säuberlich sortiert, beherbergt es Stempel, Schlagzahlen und Stifte um dem Schreiben den letzten Schliff zu geben.

Ursprünglich für die Schreibstation konzipiert, ist dieser Hocker auch als Solitär schön anzusehn. Ein konisch verlaufendes Gestell aus drei Stahlrohren bildet den Unterbau für die klassisch gedrechselte Sitzfläche aus Eiche. Die um den neuralgischen Punkt der Fußraste geknickten Beine enden mit kreisförmigen Plättchen aus vollem Stahl.

Das elliptische Volumen dieses Klangkörpers bildet ein um Rundstäbe gespanntes Textil. Flacheisen und Eiche begrenzen die ovale Erscheineng nach oben und unten hin.
Rund herum nett anzuschauen, steht der "Ovaly" in Mitten der Lobby des Münchner Hotels. Im Inneren seines Bauches beschallen vier radial ausgerichtete Boxen jeden Winkel des Foyers. Auf seinem Top befinden sich Hörnchenlautsprecher und ein, in die Oberfläche integriertes, Schelllackabspielgerät, das sich mit seiner Halbautomatik fast schon den Namen Wurlitzer verdient hätte.
